Dresden
Dresden - "Elbflorenz"

Cities

Along with those charming towns of Saxon Switzerland, we would like to draw your attention to other magnificent cities to visit in the surroundings of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

Pirna - gateway to Saxon Switzerland

Embedded into a picturesque landscape, this old romantic town with a 775 years long history and an almost unchanged silhouette, just like the world-famous artist Canaletto had already painted it in 1753, invites you to spend some time here.
A variety of museums, boutiques and pavement cafés make it an enjoyable stay.

Dresden

Visiting the "capital of art and culture" should be all part and parcel of your stay in Saxon Switzerland. Dresden offers attractions in great variety.
No book about the history of architecture can miss mentioning the Dresden Zwinger, the Church of our Lady or the Semper Opera House and Royal Palace as well as many other historical monuments and ensembles determining the image of the city.
The saucy angels from Raphael’s “The Sistine Madonna" make publicity for Dresden’s art collections in the whole world. Magnificent promenades on the bank of the Elbe, interesting museums and institutions, industrial monuments, charming details - There are a lof of things you can discover in Dresden.

Meißen

This city with its attractive Old Town and the "Albrechtsburg" is famous for having established the first porcelain manufactury in Europe.
The nearby wine-growing district is not only the most north-eastern one in Europe, but also the smallest one in Germany. The dry wines are appreciated all over the world.

Prague

The capital of the Czech Republic is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The historic centre has been included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in the year 1992.
Some bus tour operators offer guided trips to ‘the golden city’. You visit the cathedral, the Charles Bridge and the most important buildings and monuments of this magnificent and peculiar town.
